4th KDT KAIZEN Awarding Ceremony Y2019

This year’s 4th KDT KAIZEN Awarding Ceremony was held successfully and the General Presentation of the Top Three (3) Winning Entries were shown to all KDT members last November 13, 2019!

This year, each entries were limited to only 10 minutes per presentation. Below are the following winning themes or entries:

1st Prize: KDT Mill Tool Palettes (by Mill Group), Presentor: Kristine Labendia

2nd Prize: Adaption of Practicable SPPID Drafting Techniques to AutoCAD in Making P&ID Drawings (by Chemical Group), Presentor: Gladys Villanueva

3rd Prize: Automation of Support Fabrication Drawings and Material Take-off (by Electrical Group), Presentor: Lian Cabradilla

Special Award:

4th Prize: Material Handling Steel Member Profile & Customized Tab (by Material Handling Group)

Participation Awards (in no particular order, Final Presentation proper):

  • Usage of Macro Files for Convenience of PDMS Operation (by Piping Group)
  • Inventor Content Utility for CATIA & PDMS (by Cement Group)
  • Autodesk Token Flex License Management Program(by Solution-IT Group)
  • Hardware Inventory With Quick Response (QR) Code (by Solution-IT Group)
  • Piping & Tubing Symmetry (by TEG Group)
  • Mesh Adjustment (by TEG Group)
  • Optimized Workflow Tool for Earthquake Load Generation and Quick Design of Secondary Beams of Steel Structure by INTEGRATION of STAAD and EXCEL (by Civil Group)
  • Thermodynamic Computation and Classification of Pressure Equalizing Tank by Volume Capacity (by Ash Group)
  • Automation of Preparing Project Reports by using AutoCAD P&ID (by Boiler Group)

All entries had been judged based on the following criterion (Total = 50 points):

  • Ideas, Innovation & Originality  (10 points max.)
  • Effectiveness & Do-ability of the Theme          (10 points max.)
  • Longevity & Sustainability           (10 points max.)
  • Wider Scope Applicability            (10 points max.)
  • Over-all Presentation                    (10 points max.)

All KDT members are encouraged to have a continuous effort to improve the work quality and efficiency in their working environment. Also, KAIZEN ideas should have the following goals:

  • KAIZEN theme must be based on positive attitudes.
  • KAIZEN should promote teamwork and cooperation.
  • As much as possible, do what we can with the utilization of our existing and available resources.
  • It should “not” promote disunity, dissatisfaction, complaints, blaming-others-culture and competitions among ourselves.
  • The target of the KAIZEN is “your work” and not of “others”. However, if a certain KAIZEN idea can be applicable and shall be useful to other groups as well, then it is highly encourage to start it within your group first, then the GM Team will elevate it and promote it, to be recommended to the other groups in the future.

This year’s General Management (GM) Team as headed by KDT President, Takenaka-san, Sr. Adviser, Ogiso-san; KDT Eng’g. Director, Nogomi-san; Sr. Manager, Mr. Toni Laureano; Sr. Manager, Mr. Conrado Benitez and Sr. Manager, Mr. Erwin Tan… their able support and wisdom were able to contribute to this year’s KAIZEN activity and have come into fruition. Over-all KAIZEN facilitator is Mr. Ernesto Veloso.

Special Presentation

After the Kaizen Presentation, one of KDT Engineer Mr. Aris Cabello also prepared a Special Presentation. He briefly discussed the “KDT Tool Palletes – AutoCAD Dynamic Blocks” and showed a “Short Plant Video Presentation”.
